LUIS FOR PRESIDENT - in English :-)

UNIS Hanoi was founded by the United Nations when the Vietnamese Government would still have difficulties in accepting foreign national schools in the country.

But even with 60 different nations and 40 different mother tongues - at the end the school environment of our children is unmistakably shaped American.

And that's why it is not  surprising that even the little ones are politicized very early.

So in times of American election campaigns even primary school students focus on the question of how to prevent Donald Trump moving into the White House.

The students of Grade 2 TL found a very simple solution:

They elect their own presidential candidate.


O course this is not as easy as it sounds.

Although many UNIS parents are kind of economic refugees who came to Vietnam because here they finally found a job (as a consultant or in a big bank), or came for political reasons and found shelter in one of the Embassies - "they" also exist in UNIS: the "Donald - Trump - morons".

To make sure that those people would not be warned in advance, the internal UNIS Hanoi-presidential-Pre-Elections would be held secretly - under the guise of the "Student Council Elections".


We were somewhat surprised when we found out that our son Luis expressed interest in being a candidate.

But when he came home and asked ME to "please write him a speech until tomorrow morning" meanwhile he focused on playing with his IPad, we were sure that he had everything he needed to be a real politician.

At the end, I let him down and it all turned out different than expected... But let Luis tell what happened...
